Job Vacancy - Senior Research Fellow, project on prison-based work and employment in UK, Brazil, USA
Ready to lead a cutting-edge comparative prisons research project? We are recruiting for a Senior Research Fellow to lead a project examining prison-based work and employment in the UK, Brazil, and the USA.
You will be responsible for delivering the project ‘Unlocking potential: towards effective, sustainable and ethical provision of employment opportunities for prisoners and prison-leavers’ (the ‘Project’).
This substantial, grant-funded, international comparative research project examines prison labour and the provision of work and employment training to prisoners and prison-leavers in the UK, the USA and Brazil. The project commenced in 2022 and will run until 2025. It is one of four projects currently being conducted under ICPR’s World Prison Research Programme (incorporating the renowned World Prison Brief database).
You will work alongside other members of ICPR’s prisons research team on the project. You will also collaborate with an international network of overseas researchers, civil society organisations, practitioners and other stakeholders.
